Padmasambhava statues (rupas)

The Vajra Guru
Padmasambhava (lotus-born guru) known as Guru Rinpoche is the archetypal Tantric Guru. Padmasambhava statues show the awakened teacher and guide, The Vajra Guru, who helps, advises, inspires and encourages the practitioner at all times and in all places. Padmasambhava means “the lotus born” and is the enlightened mind at work in the world.

Padmasambhava statues can have many names and forms, most famously the Eight Manifestations of Padmasambhava e.g. Dorje Drollo. Some forms of Padmasambhava show a peaceful aspect, some wrathful, some a mixture of both. In Tibetan Buddhism he is known as Guru Rinpoche, the most precious teacher and guide. Padmasambhava’s mantra is “om ah hum vajra guru padma siddhi hum.”
Padmasambhava is associated with the transformation of obstacles into opportunities and the taming of inner and outer “demons” into forces helpful to The Dharma. He helped establish Buddhism in Tibet and is known as a Great Buddhist yogi and magician/shaman.
These Padmasambhava statues are in Copper, some with a simpler oxidised finish others with Gold plating and face painted.
